Our Veterinarians

Meet the three doctors at the heart of All Creatures, providing thoughtful, compassionate care for pets throughout the Flathead Valley.

A Kalispell native, Dr. Stacey Neils graduated from Flathead High School in 1997 before completing her undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University and earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. After veterinary school, she gained experience working in practices across Alaska, North Carolina, and Washington before ultimately returning home to the Flathead Valley.

Dr. Neils joined All Creatures Veterinary Clinic alongside Dr. Markellis in 2012. In 2021, when Dr. Markellis retired, Dr. Neils and her parents, Ralph and Edna, purchased the practice and proudly continued its tradition of caring for pets and families throughout the community.

Dr. Neils enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with particular interests in surgery, reproduction, and exotic animal medicine, including both small mammals and reptiles.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Neils enjoys spending time with her son, Julius; two dogs; and two cats. She also enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and especially looks forward to summers at Bull Lake.

A proud Montana native, Dr. Joanie Bechtle is grateful to have built her career in the place she has always called home. After graduating from Montana State University, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University in 1998. She began her career in Bellingham, Washington, before returning to Montana, where she spent the next 25 years caring for pets and their families in Whitefish.

Dr. Bechtle has special interests in dentistry, internal medicine, wellness care, and general surgery. Throughout her career, her focus has remained simple: helping pets live their happiest, healthiest, and longest lives while building lasting relationships with the families who love them.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bechtle enjoys life with her husband, their two grown sons, three dogs, two fish, and a cheerful parakeet. She loves taking advantage of Montana’s outdoors and can often be found camping, hiking, gardening, cross-country or downhill skiing, kayaking, or enjoying just about anything that gets her outside under the Big Sky.

After many years at her previous practice, Dr. Bechtle is excited to begin a new chapter with the team at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic. She looks forward to meeting new clients and patients while reconnecting with familiar faces from throughout the community. For Dr. Bechtle, continuing to build those relationships—both old and new—is one of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine.

Dr. Laura Thiel has called the Flathead Valley home and cared for pets in the community since 2008. Originally from Huntington, West Virginia, she grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses, fostering a lifelong love of animals. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 and spent seven years practicing in the Reno area before moving to the Flathead Valley with her family.

Dr. Thiel has special interests in veterinary dentistry, surgery, and internal medicine. She is especially passionate about caring for senior pets and helping families maintain their pets’ comfort and quality of life throughout their golden years.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Thiel enjoys hiking and backpacking, skiing, cheering on her kids at high school track meets, and spending time with her family at the lake. She shares her adventures with her two dogs: Cooper, her beloved senior Golden Retriever, and Zeus, Cooper’s cantankerous Husky/Malamute partner in crime.

Client Care & Administrative Team

The friendly faces keeping our clinic running smoothly and making every visit feel a little more like home.

Heather Anderson joined the All Creatures Veterinary Clinic team in 2025 as our Office Manager after retiring from a rewarding career as a kindergarten teacher. She now brings her years of experience working with people, organization, and plenty of patience to helping keep the clinic running smoothly each day.

As Dr. Stacey Neils’ sister, Heather is also part of the family behind All Creatures and enjoys being able to work alongside her sister while supporting the team, clients, and pets who make the clinic such a special place.

Outside of the clinic, Heather loves traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and her beloved fur babies

Veterinary Care Team

The compassionate hands behind every visit, supporting our veterinarians and providing attentive, hands-on care to every patient.

Sadie has had a lifelong love of animals, with much of her background centered around horses and equine care. Originally from Southern Virginia, she headed west to study Bachelor’s of Equine Science at Colorado State University. After graduation she spent time living and working on a ranch in Arizona before eventually making her way to Montana. She continues to work with horses through equine PEMF and bodywork.

At All Creatures, Sadie enjoys working alongside the Veterinary team and getting to know the unique personalities of the pets who come through the clinic doors. While she loves animals of all kinds, she has an undeniable soft spot for Golden Retrievers and their versatility.

Outside of the clinic, Sadie enjoys traveling, reading, riding, working with horses, and photography. She spends much of her free time with her husband and their own crew of animals, including horses, a donkey, her Golden Retriever, Chance, and black cat, Arlington.

Originally from Wisconsin, Erin moved to Montana in 2011 and has called the area home ever since. Her love for animals began early through her involvement in 4-H and has continued to shape both her education and career. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree with the goal of attending Veterinary school and becoming a Veterinarian.

At All Creatures, Erin enjoys working with animals of all kinds and has a particular interest in exotic medicine, especially chameleons and other reptiles. She loves continuing to learn and gaining hands-on experience as she works toward her future career in Veterinary medicine.

Outside of the clinic, Erin stays busy raising her four boys and caring for a full house of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. She also enjoys swimming, spending time outdoors, woodworking, sewing, and gardening.

Sarah is originally from New Jersey and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rutgers University. Shortly after graduating, she made the move to Kalispell, Montana, where she joined All Creatures Veterinary Clinic.

Sarah Aspires to attend Veterinary School and pursue her DVM, with the goal of providing compassionate care to animals and their families.

Since joining All Creatures, she has enjoyed getting to know the wonderful clients and pets that make up our local community. She especially loves the problem-solving and science behind veterinary medicine, and you can often find her looking under a microscope or learning something new.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys knitting, crocheting, hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing.

Misty is a valued member of the All Creatures team and takes her role as Chief Executive Meowfficer very seriously. Her daily responsibilities include supervising clinic operations, inspecting available boxes, monitoring the treat supply, and providing unsolicited feedback whenever she feels standards are slipping.

When she isn’t overseeing the humans, Misty can usually be found enjoying a well-earned nap on a warm laptop, seeking attention on her own terms, or making sure everyone remembers exactly who is really in charge. She brings plenty of personality to the clinic and has perfected the delicate balance between boosting staff morale and contributing absolutely nothing to the workload.

Like any good executive, she delegates whenever possible.
